Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a Monitor Technician to observe cardiac telemetry, document findings, and promptly notify nursing staff of any abnormalities. The role requires alertness, accurate documentation, and teamwork to maintain safety and care quality.

Shifts are nights with potential weekends. Prior monitor tech experience or completion of AdventHealth training is preferred, along with basic computer and medical terminology knowledge.

Qualifications

• Monitor technician experience or completion of AdventHealth Monitor Technician training or equivalent.
• Must read, write and speak conversational English.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with patients/public in potentially difficult situations.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and arrhythmia identification.
• Able to learn and complete competency checks within 90 days.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

• Observe monitors and document normal/abnormal EKG patterns.
• Notify nursing staff of abnormalities.
• Maintain monitor alarms and troubleshoot as needed.
• Document accurate activities and quality standards.
• Support department changes from performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure clean, organized work environment and proper equipment sanitization.
• Participate in ongoing education and training.
