Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Monitor Technician to provide continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors, document patient rhythms, and communicate findings to the healthcare team. You will ensure equipment is correctly configured and lead placement is accurate for safe patient monitoring.

The role requires telemetry/EKG interpretation training during orientation and 0–2 years of clerical or clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period is required.
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe and interpret telemetry monitors, recording rhythm strips at established intervals.
• Identify rhythm changes and promptly notify the nurse or licensed personnel.
• Maintain effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders for care coordination.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with monitoring equipment; escalate unresolved problems as directed.
• Organize and track monitoring equipment during shifts and ensure proper configuration for admissions/transfers/discharges.
• Ensure accurate lead placement and electrode application for optimal telemetry monitoring.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
