Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking a Monitor Tech for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit. This full-time role involves rotating shifts and requires an HS diploma or equivalent with completion of a monitor technician surveillance program upon hire.

The Monitor Tech will observe, interpret, and document EKG tracings, promptly notify staff of dysrhythmias, operate telemetry systems, and ensure equipment is kept in safe working order.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program is required upon hire.
• Certification in EKG/monitor tech preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations.
• Notifies appropriate personnel promptly of dysrhythmias.
• Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity.
• Ensures proper and safe functioning of telemetry equipment.
