Candidates should have a high school diploma, ECG competency, BLS certification, and about 1 year of related telemetry experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Monitor Technician with ECG competency.
• BLS/Health Care provider certification required.
• 1 year of monitor technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm.
• Demonstrates competency in telemetry lead placement for accurate cardiac rhythm analysis.
• Analyzes cardiac rhythm and records measurements and interpretations per protocol.
• Notifies RN of rhythm changes and follows escalation protocol.
• Maintains knowledge of central monitoring station operation and alarms.
• Coordinates initiation and discontinuation of telemetry with nursing staff.
