Candidates should have ECG competency, pass the Rhythm Test with 84% or higher, or complete Orlando Health’s ECG course. BLS certification is required; experience is not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Monitor Technician role requires ECG competency and Rhythm Test with 84%+ or completion of ECG course.
• BLS certification required.
• No prior experience required (entry level).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review patient data to determine baseline rhythm.
• Place telemetry leads correctly for accurate rhythm analysis.
• Analyze rhythm and record measurements every 6 hours.
• Notify RN of rhythm changes and follow escalation protocol.
• Maintain central monitoring system and alarm settings.
• Coordinate initiation/cessation of telemetry with nursing staff.
• Identify and troubleshoot monitoring system issues.
