Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Plano, TX is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) for Medical Surgical Telemetry. This full-time day shift role offers a 36-hour work week (3 shifts of 12 hours) from 7am to 7pm in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 29 beds and a 1:5 ratio (up to 6 on nights).

The unit emphasizes high patient satisfaction and engagement. Required RN licensure (TX or compact), ACLS within 90 days, CPI training within 60 days, and BCLS on hire.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or ADN; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing on hire.
• BCLS required on hire; expiration >3 months preferred.
• ACLS required within 90 days of hire.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.
• 1 year RN experience or RN residency completed.
• 1 year Med/Surg Tele RN experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or family information needs.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.
