Texas Health Plano seeks a Part-Time Registered Nurse in Surgical Telemetry to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The unit cares for patients after general surgery and post-op cardiac procedures, with a focus on telemetry monitoring.

The role requires an RN license, an Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma, and ACLS/BCLS/CPI certifications. BSN is preferred for career growth and leadership opportunities within the team.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma is required.
• RN license is required; BSN is preferred.
• 1 year of nursing experience or RN residency completion is required.
• 2 years of RN experience in cardiac/telemetry is preferred.
• BCLS, ACLS and CPI certifications are required where noted.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient and plans the care.
• Intervenes as appropriate and evaluates intervention effectiveness.
• Incorporates age-specific safety and infection control into care.
• Initiates information for patients and families as needed.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.

Parker Plano, TX 75093 Work hours: Part-time, 24 hours weekly, 2-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Surgical Telemetry Unit - Our Nurses improve the quality of care for patients undergoing general medical surgery, surgical telemetry and post-op coronary bypass who come to this unit after their recovery period in ICU.

What you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing; Nursing Diploma
• BSN preferred
• RN (required)
• CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
• 1 year experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
• 2 years of RN experience in cardiac or telemetry preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

What you will do:

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
