Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Louisiana seeks a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will assist with patient observation, safety, and information flow among patients, families, and staff.

The role requires current Louisiana CNA certification and a high school diploma, with BLS and CPI to be obtained within 60 days of hire. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Louisiana CNA certification required.
• BLS from the American Heart Association to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• CPI certification to be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including 24/7, weekends, holidays, on call.

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification.
• Maintains a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Provides care based on patient age and safety criteria.
• Communicates patient care needs with patients, families and other staff.
• Completes documentation of patient-related tasks.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
