Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a patient care assistant to support daily nursing tasks in a fast-paced hospital unit. You will help with patient hygiene, mobility and basic care, while recording data in the EMR and communicating observations to the RN.

This role includes 36 hours per week with night shifts, weekend requirements, and holiday commitments. Certification requirements include BLS for Healthcare Providers and Nurse Aide in good standing.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and ability to document in EMR.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
• Certification Addendum and ongoing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care: bathing, feeding, mobility.
• Record vitals and intake/output in EMR accurately.
• Perform rounding and communicate observations to RN.
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge under RN supervision.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Restock nursing area and maintain equipment and supplies.
