Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a telemetry unit on the first shift. The role focuses on high-quality patient care, including skilled basic tasks and collaboration with the nursing team on a busy telemetry floor.

The CNA must have Kentucky certification or be in early nursing training with clinical rotation validation and a BLS certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification, or first-year nursing student with clinical rotation validation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent completed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision or licensed care team.
• Deliver compassionate, dignified care and maintain patient comfort and safety.
• Demonstrate empathy, communication, and teamwork in nurse–patient relationships.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks (bathing, oral care, hair, nails).
• Assist with bowel and bladder function while preserving dignity.
• Record intake and output and transport specimens for analysis.
• Maintain clean patient rooms and assist with mobility and repositioning as ordered.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to the patient’s nurse and prioritize care.

Education

Nurse Aide Certification (Kentucky)
