Job summary

Montage Health is seeking a Telemetry Clinical Educator to lead education programs for Telemetry staff. Reporting to the Nursing Clinical Education Manager, the role designs and delivers learning experiences to improve patient outcomes and staff performance.

This exempt, full-time position requires 2+ years telemetry or ICU nursing and prior education experience; licensure as a CA RN and BLS/ACLS credentials are expected, with NIHSS and cardiac rhythm competency to be obtained by deadlines.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of telemetry or critical care nursing experience within the last 4 years.
• Experience facilitating learning as an educator, preceptor, or similar role.
• CA RN licensure and BLS certification required; ACLS preferred prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

Job Description: Position Summary

Welcome to Montage Health’s application process! The Clinical Educator, Telemetry reports directly to the Nursing Clinical Education Manager. This role is responsible for providing formal and informal education programs for the staff of Telemetry units with planning assistance from the Management Team of the respective departments. The Clinical Educator possesses a broad scope of knowledge and skills to facilitate improved patient outcomes through enhanced staff performance in the clinical setting. The Clinical Educator possesses the skills and knowledge to competently provide the appropriate services to patients and staff. Under guidance of Clinical Education Department leadership, the Telemetry Clinical Educator supports the strategic learning needs of the organization. The Clinical Educator assesses performance gaps, designs learning activities using a wide variety of evidence-based instructional methods and evaluates program impact using metrics of importance to the organization. The Clinical Educator designs and/or facilitates service line specific learning programs and also participates with various department initiatives and house-wide learning programs. Roles and responsibilities are guided by the Nursing Professional Development Practice model and include duties such as onboarding and orientation, competency management, design and facilitation of role development programs, and provision of continuing education through competent learning facilitation. Success in this role requires the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with team members and stakeholders internal and external to the organization, embrace and facilitate change, and champion a culture of inquiry and evidence-based practice. The Clinical Education Department promotes optimal patient outcomes by facilitating patient-focused, learner-centric educational activities. Experience REQUIRED

• Previous experience with the facilitation of learning, as an educator, preceptor, or similar role.
• At least 2 years of telemetry and/or progressive and/or critical care nursing experience (within last 4 years) in alignment with clinical focus of the role.

DESIRED

• Instructional design skills; experience with the evaluation of learning.

Education

• Advanced degree (MSNDNP/ Nursing PhD) within three years of hire (preferred) or BSN within two years of hire (minimum)

Licensure/Certifications

• CA RN required
• AHA BLS required
• AHA ACLS prior to completion of orientation
• NIHSS is required. Existing employees must obtain by May 1, 2025.
• CHOMP Cardiac Rhythm Competency prior to completion of orientation. Existing employees must obtain by May 1, 2025.

Related specialty certification

• Related specialty certification (e.g., NPD-BC, PCCN, CCRN, CEN, CFRN, CTRN, etc.) within one year of hire
