Job summary

Beacon Health Options seeks a telemetry-sensitive nursing support role at Elkhart General Hospital's Progressive Care – Cardiac Step-Down. The incumbent will monitor telemetry, recognize abnormal rhythms, and accurately transcribe orders while maintaining a safe, compassionate patient environment.

Strong knowledge of basic cardiac dysrhythmia and EKG patterns, plus CPR certification and a high school diploma (preferred), are required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Must be minimum 17 years of age.
• Must pass basic dysrhythmia test on hire or before orientation completion (minimum 80%).
• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Observe telemetry monitors and recognize arrhythmias.
• Transcribe doctor/nursing orders accurately and timely.
• Provide safe patient environment and support patient care.
• Follow TeamSTEPPS principles to improve communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate monitor documentation and rhythm strips.
• Update telemetry tracking data and respond to changes promptly.
