Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Telemetry Technician to support non-invasive cardiology by monitoring ECG data and reporting rhythm changes to the RN. You will prepare, maintain, and sanitize telemetry equipment and document findings for the care team.

The role includes shift flexibility with evenings and weekends differential, and requires Basic Rhythm Certification within 90 days plus BLS-HCP within 60 days. Prior hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic Rhythm Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• BLS-HCP Certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire.
• Preferred: hospital or healthcare setting experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and ensure accurate ECG readings.
• Interpret ECG data and report changes to the RN promptly.
• Manage telemetry equipment, replace batteries and ECG leads as needed.
• Document ECG data in patient records for multidisciplinary review.
• Assist in tracking patient locations and ECG visualization after transfers.
• Perform routine crash cart checks at shift start to ensure readiness.
• Provide ECG history to incoming monitor technicians for care continuity.
• Assist in training new staff on telemetry monitoring and procedures.
• Maintain admission/discharge and equipment logbooks as required.
