Groups Recover Together, Inc. in Maine is seeking a Counselor to lead dynamic group therapy sessions and support our member-centered care teams in a mission-driven, recovery-focused environment.

Responsibilities include delivering 3–4 one-hour sessions daily, tracking progress, and engaging with the local community to promote our program. A Bachelor’s degree and an active Maine licensure (LADC/CADC/CS etc.) with at least two years of group therapy in SUD are required; reciprocity with other

• Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting.
• High comfort with technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google tools, mobile apps.

Job Description

As a Counselor, you’ll lead dynamic group therapy sessions and be a vital part of our member-centered care teams. You’ll work in a mission-driven environment where compassion, integrity, and human connection drive real transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions per day using a structured, evidence-based curriculum.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• An active Maine behavioral health licensure or certification including but not limited to: LADC, CADC, CCS, LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC and associate level status with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states
• Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
