Job summary

Groups Recover Together in Lewiston, Maine is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to lead 3–4 one-hour group therapy sessions daily within our member-centered care teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and active Maine licensure/certification in behavioral health, plus at least two years of group therapy experience in SUD settings. You’ll work in-person with evening shifts and a structured, evidence-based curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Maine licensure/certification in behavioral health (LADC/CADC/CCS/LCSW/LMFT/LPCC) with willingness to reciprocity in other states.
• Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting.
• High comfort level with technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Docs/Sheets/Drive).
• Ability to work 2–3 evenings per week up to 9pm.

Salary Range: $62,245 - $72,628.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 11:30 AM–7:00 PM; Wednesday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.

• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• An active Maine behavioral health licensure or certification including but not limited to: LADC, CADC, CCS, LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC and associate level status with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states
• Minimum two years of experience leading group therapy in a SUD setting.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
