Job summary

Groups Recover Together is seeking a Counselor to lead dynamic group therapy sessions and be a vital part of our member-centered care teams in Virginia. You’ll work in a mission-driven environment where compassion, integrity, and human connection drive real transformation.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 4p - 8pm EST. You’ll collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches to monitor progress, document outcomes, and promote a positive recovery-oriented environment for members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active behavioral health licensure in Virginia including but not limited to: LPC, LCSW, CSAC, LSATP, LMFT and associate level status with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states.

• Lead 6 one-hour group therapy sessions weekly using a structured, evidence-based curriculum.
• Facilitate group discussions using a “plug and play” approach from approved modalities to meet members where they are within the guardrails of our clinical framework.
• Collaborate with prescribers, care navigators, and recovery coaches.
• Monitor member progress and document outcomes.
• Support a positive, recovery-oriented environment for members.
• Engage in local community outreach to promote Groups’ mission.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active behavioral health licensure in Virginia including but not limited to: LPC, LCSW, CSAC, LSATP, LMFT and associate level status with ability and willingness to obtain licensure reciprocity in other states
• Minimum two years’ leading groups in a SUD setting.
• High comfort level with Technology: EMR, Telehealth software, Google products (Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Drive), mobile apps, etc.
• Compassion, collaboration, commitment to quality care, and an investment in member success.
• Ability to work 2-3 evenings per week up to 9pm as needed.
• Other preferred backgrounds, experience, and skills include: mental health, social work, substance use disorder treatment, therapy, human services, social services, medication assisted treatment or MAT.
