Job summary

The Metropolitan Opera seeks phone representatives to raise funds from constituents. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule with hybrid eligibility after in-person training, requiring 17.5 hours weekly, including two Saturday morning shifts per month.

The ideal candidate will have strong persuasion, donor relations experience, and comfort with database entry; opera knowledge is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Persuasion and verbal communication skills required.
• Sales or fundraising experience with non-profit is a plus.
• Excellent computer proficiency; familiarity with Teams and Outlook helpful.
• CRM/Tessitura experience preferred; ability to work under pressure.
• Detail-oriented and team-focused with strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound calls to donors and ticket holders to raise funds and sell ticket packages.
• Record information from these calls into the Met's database.

Job description

Fundraising keeps opera alive at the Metropolitan Opera! We are seeking phone representatives to help us reach our goals by raising funds from our loyal constituents. This is a great opportunity to work for the largest performing arts organization and gain experience working at one of the finest opera companies in the world. We offer a flexible schedule and hybrid eligibility upon the completion of all necessary in-person training. Must be able to work 17.5 hours a week including at least two Saturday morning shifts per month.

In depth knowledge and/or serious appreciation of the performing arts required. Some knowledge of opera preferred, but not required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct outbound calls to our donors and ticket holders to raise funds and sell tickets packages for the Met.
• Record information from these calls into the Met’s database.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in persuasion and verbal communication skills
• Sales /fundraising experience institutional and/or non-profit organizations preferred
  Excellent Computer proficiency. Teams, Outlook, and experience using call management software are a plus!
• CRM/Tessitura experience preferred
  Ability to practice patience while working under pressure
• Attention to detail
  Collaborates well in a team and goal-oriented environment
• Must have ability to work remotely with high-speed internet connection
