Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in telecommunications, network management, or IT systems administration, with supervisory/management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the 24-hour operation, reliability, performance, and availability of the Enterprise Voice and Unified Communications environment.
  • Oversee on-premises and cloud telephony platforms, SIP trunking, call routing, and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure E911 compliance and manage contact center solutions and integrated collaboration tools.
  • Lead vendor partnerships, SLAs, renewals, and performance with platform vendors, carriers, and integrators.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual budget for the Telecommunications Division.

We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize! The Telecommunications Systems Manager is responsible for the planning, reliability, security, and modernization of Hamilton County’s countywide voice and collaboration environment. This role oversees on-premises and cloud telephony platforms; SIP trunking and session border controllers (SBCs); call routing and voicemail; E911 compliance; contact center solutions; and integrated collaboration tools (e.g., softphones, Teams/Zoom/Webex). The manager leads strategic direction, operations, and vendor partnerships to ensure resilient, cost-effective, secure communications that enable efficient and effective public service across all county departments

Summary of Job Duties:
  • Manage the 24-hour operation, reliability, performance, and availability of the county’s Enterprise Voice and Unified Communications environment, including voice infrastructure, SIP trunking, call routing, disaster recovery, QoS, inventories, and documentation.
  • Manages personnel in performance of job duties and responsibilities.
  • Develops, manages, reviews and coordinates all County departments' specifications for telecommunications systems including the bidding and purchasing of these systems.
  • Oversee contracts, SLAs, renewals, and performance with platform vendors, carriers, and integrators.
  • Prepares, maintains and monitors yearly budget for Telecommunications Division, including the County’s telecommunications systems, and projects recommended changes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in telecommunications, network management, or IT systems administration, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Work Location and Hours:
  • 800 Broadway, Cincinnati, Oh. 45202
  • 40 hour work week, generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30
