Job summary

Optomi, in partnership with a leading energy provider, seeks an IT Telecom Analyst – Data/Network Ops to join an enterprise Telecom Operations team in Charlotte, NC. This hybrid role focuses on hands-on network operations, Cisco networking, device maintenance, changes, and adherence to change management procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong Cisco experience, production troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple technical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Networking or related field with 2+ years related experience.
• Alternatively, HS diploma with 6+ years related experience.
• Hands-on Cisco networking experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Experience with enterprise ticketing/change management processes.
• Familiarity with NERC CIP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain enterprise data network infrastructure with focus on reliability, availability, and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot Cisco devices, routing, switching, TCP/IP, and connectivity issues in production environments.
• Perform Cisco IOS/OS upgrades, software updates, maintenance activities, and post-change validation.
• Execute network device configuration changes, including ACL modifications and security-related changes.
• Configure and troubleshoot OpenGear or similar console/terminal server platforms.
• Perform password and credential updates on Cisco and network management devices per procedures.
• Support patching activities and review PMPs related to network infrastructure.
• Create, update, and maintain operational tickets and Change Requests using enterprise ticketing systems.
• Document network changes, troubleshooting activities, validation steps, and operational procedures clearly.
• Partner with network operations, compliance, infrastructure, and other teams for controlled changes.
• Develop, maintain, and execute Ansible playbooks to automate repeatable tasks.
• Identify opportunities to improve network operations through automation and monitoring.
• Participate in network reliability initiatives and operational improvement projects.
• Follow change management, security, compliance, and operational procedures.
• Work independently with limited supervision while communicating across teams.

Overview:

Optomi, in partnership with a leading energy provider, is seeking Seeking an IT Telecom Analyst – Data/Network Ops to join an enterprise Telecom Operations team supporting network reliability, network maintenance, and compliance-driven operational activities.

This role focuses on hands‑on enterprise network operations, with an emphasis on Cisco networking, network device maintenance, configuration changes, troubleshooting, and structured change management. The position will also support compliance‑related activities involving network devices and collaborate closely with operations and compliance teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong Cisco networking and production troubleshooting experience, follows documented operational procedures, and can work independently while coordinating with multiple technical teams. Experience with NERC CIP, OpenGear, Ansible, and network automation is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain enterprise data network infrastructure with a focus on reliability, availability, and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot Cisco network devices, routing, switching, TCP/IP, and connectivity issues in production environments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field plus 2+ years of related experience, OR High School Diploma/GED plus 6+ years of related experience.
• 4+ years of enterprise network operations or network support experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience supporting Cisco networking environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise network issues in production environments.
• Experience performing Cisco IOS/OS upgrades or network device software maintenance.
• Experience making network configuration changes, including ACL modifications.
• Experience with enterprise ticketing and change management processes.
• ServiceNow and/or Footprints experience preferred.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to follow established operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a NERC CIP or other regulated/compliance‑driven environment.
• Hands‑on OpenGear configuration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with Ansible automation and/or creating, maintaining, or executing Ansible playbooks.
• Network monitoring and/ or network automation experience.
• Experience with ServiceNow change management.
• Experience supporting utilities, energy, critical infrastructure, or other regulated environments.
