Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks Telecommunications Consultant SG7 to support transport network operations across fiber, microwave, and P25 systems. You will work on-site, participate in a rotating on-call schedule, and assist with change control and documentation.

Travel may be required to multiple site locations, including Roanoke, VA and other cities. Ideal candidates have a relevant engineering/telecom degree or equivalent experience, and at least 2 years in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, telecommunications, or related field of study required.
• Associate's degree in field mentioned with 2 years of relevant work experience accepted.
• HS diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Support transport network systems (Fiber Optic, Microwave, P.25 800MHz).
• Shared 24x7x365 on-call with 6 engineers.
• Break/fix support of transport networks.
