Job summary

CDW in Wisconsin is seeking a Communications & Network Connectivity Specialist to support critical electric utility substation projects. This contract role targets telecom, network, and utility communications professionals who have moved into planning, design, or pre‑sales engineering.

You will develop CNC-SD scope definitions, review substation drawings, create network port assignments, and prepare SOWs and BOMs while coordinating with engineers and field staff to deliver reliable grid

Qualifications

  • Experience in telecom or utility networks and electrical utility environments.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic construction and utility practices.
  • Strong IP networking understanding and network equipment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination.
  • Able to work independently and drive projects.

Responsibilities

  • Define CNC-SD scope definitions for substation projects.
  • Review and QA substation drawings.
  • Create network port assignments and device configurations.
  • Develop scopes of work (SOWs), bill of materials (BOMs), and implementation plans.
  • Support project meetings and coordinate network infrastructure requirements.
  • Provide construction‑phase support and manage field‑driven design changes.
