We're looking for a Communications & Network Connectivity Specialist to support critical electric utility substation projects. This role is ideal for someone who has hands‑on experience with fiber, telecom, networking, or utility communications infrastructure and has evolved into a technical planning, design, or pre‑sales engineering role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop Communications & Network Connectivity Scope Definitions (CNC-SD) for substation projects
  • Review and QA substation electrical drawings
  • Create network port assignments and device configurations
  • Develop scopes of work (SOWs), bill of materials (BOMs), and implementation plans
  • Support project meetings and coordinate network infrastructure requirements
  • Provide construction‑phase support and manage field‑driven design changes
  • Work with engineers, project teams, network specialists, and construction personnel to deliver reliable connectivity solutions for critical grid infrastructure

  • Field Operations Specialist → Technical Planner / Designer

You understand what it takes to deploy and support communications infrastructure because you've been in the field. Now you're comfortable reviewing drawings, building scopes, planning deployments, and supporting projects from a technical desk role.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fiber optic construction and utility construction practices
  • Strong understanding of IP networking and network equipment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills

  • Occasional travel to company offices and utility substations is required.
  • A comprehensive 10-year background check is required for this position.

If you've spent time in the field building, troubleshooting, or deploying telecom or network infrastructure and have since moved into engineering, planning, or project support, we'd love to speak with you.
