Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Project Manager 1 - Telecom in Overland Park, Kansas to plan, coordinate, and lead fiber-optic infrastructure projects across the United States. This role requires coordinating OSP, GIS, surveying, and civil teams to deliver on schedule and within budget while upholding quality standards.

You will build client relationships, guide multidisciplinary teams, monitor budgets and schedules, mentor staff, and contribute to business development while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• 6+ years of civil or telecommunications design experience.
• 1+ year of project management experience; telecom experience preferred.
• Experience with fiber design, OSP drawings, splicing plans, mapping, surveying, and utility design in public ROWs.
• Understanding of project budgets, schedules, and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Lead fiber and telecommunications design projects (Long Haul, Middle Mile, FTTH/FTTx).
• Coordinate OSP, GIS, surveying, and civil engineering teams and subconsultants.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and deliverables.
• Maintain project documentation, schedules, permits, and design records.
• Identify risks and develop solutions to ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor financials, invoicing, and consultant costs.
• Communicate with clients, teams, and stakeholders; support business development.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to project team members.
