Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers' Telecommunications team seeks a Project Engineer to design and analyze fiber optic networks, produce construction documents, and support project delivery on diverse projects across the United States.

You will lead design efforts, coordinate with clients and contractors, and mentor junior staff, requiring 5+ years of experience and a PE license; Texas licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with demonstrated project success.
• Telecommunications and fiber optic design experience strongly preferred.
• Aerial and underground fiber design experience preferred.
• Fiber cable landing and/or fiber bridge attachment experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with CAD and engineering design software.
• Ability to lead the design of large or complex projects.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Develop accurate, complete construction documents with minimal supervision.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, engineers, contractors, utilities, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate design alternatives and provide practical, cost-effective, constructive solutions.
• Review plans, specifications, calculations, and other project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support project estimates, proposals, schedules, and budgets.
• Assist with construction administration, field observations, and change orders as needed.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support business development opportunities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
