Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager – Telecom to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. You will coordinate with internal teams and contractors to develop comprehensive telecom and low‑voltage bid packages and ensure constructability.

Requirements include 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, and strong written and oral communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting low voltage electrical drawings for construction.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design/constructability concerns and disputes.
• Identify schedule/cost savings opportunities from design or modularization.
• Engage trade partners early in design phase for construction input.
• Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of telecom/low voltage sequencing.
• Identify long-lead risks and align with design/construction schedules.
• Develop and review bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate stakeholders for complete scope and WBS.
• Review Vendor Data Requirements during design for constructability impacts.
