Job summary

Index Search Group is seeking an Active Cabinet Power Engineer to design and develop electrical power systems for outdoor telecom cabinets. This role will lead power architectures, manage compliance, and guide products from concept through manufacturing and field acceptance.

The engineer will work with electrical, mechanical, and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable power solutions for harsh environments, including field support and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience designing telecom power equipment and electrical infrastructure.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE and electrical safety requirements.
• Experience ensuring compliance with UL, CE, CSA, NOM.
• PE license or EIT certification preferred.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design power systems for outdoor telecom cabinets, including -48VDC rectifiers, AC UPS, batteries, distribution bays, and grounding schemes.
• Create single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, load calculations, site layouts and BOMs.
• Ensure reliability, redundancy and future-ready enhancements.
• Coordinate with product, mechanical, and applications teams for integration.
• Provide installation support and field acceptance testing.
