Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is seeking a Drafter/Designer to plot, map, design and draft OSP telecom networks using AutoCAD and related tools.

The role involves creating accurate network maps, layouts, drawings and construction prints while coordinating with engineering, construction and permitting agencies. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED with 3+ years telecom OSP design/engineering experience; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company

Responsibilities

• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, e.g.: bill of materials, labor quantities
• Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with local, state and federal regulations (including Rural Utilities Service - RUS)
• Provide documentation for cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Meet project deadlines and complete tasks under tight timelines
• Other duties as assigned
