Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Telecom Network Engineer to support and upgrade VTC, IPTV, and related telecom systems for the VOC. You will design, implement, and maintain voice, video, and data networks, while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and strong documentation practices.

The role requires hands-on engineering for SBC/CUBE platforms, E911 integrations, and SIP trunking, with on-shift technical authority and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical/electronics or systems engineering, or an associate degree with 8+ years related experience.
• Cisco CCNA and CompTIA Security+ (or DoD 8570/8140 baseline) or equivalent credential.
• Experience designing voice/video networks, LAN/WAN data networks, and network management systems.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on engineering tasks for AV/VTC network components, SBC/CUBE platforms, collaboration edge systems, E911 integrations, SIP trunking, and call routing infrastructure.
• Apply and validate configuration changes; participate in development, testing, and interoperability activities and document results.
• Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for voice/video transport issues; escalate complex problems to Tier 3.
• Act as on-shift technical authority, guiding administrators and ensuring operational continuity.
• Support operational requirements and perform remediation tasks following patches; maintain audit-ready logs.
• Contribute to change management by planning steps, executing changes, and giving technical feedback.
• Coordinate with carriers and partner agencies; ensure actions align with policy and enterprise standards.
