Qualifications

• One year of full-time or equivalent telecom experience including installation and repair of telecom/electronic equipment.
• Education toward a degree may be substituted as described.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair MassDOT communication and electronic systems 24/7/365.
• Provide On-Call service on a rotating seniority schedule.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on life safety systems.
• Install voice, data, and video infrastructure for MassDOT facilities.
• Install new equipment for radio, fiber optic, telephone systems.
• Support Communications Engineers in installing and upgrading systems.
• Learn software packages associated with equipment and comply with safety procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Certificate from electronic technical school

Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology
