Job summary

CSEngineering in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Designer to lead TR and fiber/backbone infrastructure for the VA Milwaukee EHRM project. The role combines telecom engineering with construction oversight, QA, and coordination with Government and contractors.

The position starts offsite during pre-construction through January 2027, then onsite at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship required.
Must be eligible for Security & Facility Access.
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field.
Minimum six years of design/construction experience in telecommunications and data networks.
Active BICSI RCDD certification.
Experience with Telecommunications Rooms (TRs), fiber backbone, copper cabling, ISP/OSP.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specs and submittals.

Responsibilities

Assess Telecommunications Rooms layout, rack config, cabling, and security interfaces.
Verify TR construction complies with drawings, specs, and standards.
Inspect rack elevations, cable routing, labeling, and equipment install.
Coordinate corrective actions to address deficiencies through completion.
Oversee fiber and copper cabling installation, testing, and certification.
Review design drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, and as-built docs.
Support design reviews, meetings, and technical coordination with stakeholders.
