Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a highly skilled HVAC/Telecom Technician to join our field team. You will perform field service maintenance, remedial, and emergency repairs on telecommunication and data center HVAC equipment.

Ideal candidates read electrical ladder schematics, have HVAC code knowledge, and are willing to travel M-F with on-call. We offer training, a company vehicle, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Able to read electrical ladder schematics.
• Knowledge of HVAC codes and their proper application.
• Must be able to travel M-F, and weekends as needed.
• EPA 608 refrigerant certification (types 1, 2, 3).
• Excellent communication via email and in person.
• Experience with underground CEV/related systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining commercial cooling systems on cell tower cooling units (diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing and replacing components).
• Performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
• Replace or install forced air heating, air conditioning, hydronic heating, or refrigeration equipment.
• Install or replace duct systems in telecommunication shelters.
• Test electrical circuits for continuity and test joints for leaks.
• Layout and connect wiring between controls and equipment per diagrams.
• Troubleshoot low-voltage control systems.
