Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician to support telecommunications networks across the Waukee area. You will install, configure, and maintain routers, modems, and wiring at customer sites, diagnosing issues and ensuring service quality.

The role requires strong networking knowledge, familiarity with TCP/IP, and the ability to use testing equipment and hand tools. A customer‑oriented approach and safety compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably within telecom.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, TCP/IP, and basic electronics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and associated wiring.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity, signal quality, and equipment malfunction.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and upgrades on network infrastructure components.
• Ensure all work is completed to industry standards and company specifications, documenting all activities accurately.
