Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Lineworker 1 to install, maintain and transfer overhead telecommunications infrastructure on utility poles across Northeast Ohio, Indiana and Western Pennsylvania.

This role works with a senior lineworker, travels to job sites, and supports network expansion and maintenance. Responsibilities include pole climbing, operating diverse tools, interpreting blueprints, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while gathering accurate

Qualifications

• One year of fiber construction experience or completion of a telecommunications lineworker program.
• Basic knowledge of the telecommunications industry and fiber optics.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR; pass the Davey Driver’s Safety Course.
• Able to climb utility poles and work at heights of 20+ feet.
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card via DOT physical and drug test.
• Ability to use iPads, cameras, and GIS software in the field.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Work with a senior lineworker to learn technical and operational line work responsibilities.
• Install, maintain, and transfer overhead telecommunications infrastructure on poles and spans.
• Inspect utility poles using pole prod and sound test methods.
• Test poles for foreign voltage and ensure safe operation of tools and equipment.
• Climb poles with gear and use power tools as needed.
• Read blueprints and engineering orders to guide installations and repairs.
• Prepare weekly as-built blueprints and document field data with tablets and GIS.
