Job summary

Qualifications

• CDL (Class A) preferred.
• Knowledge of telecom line construction practices, procedures, and tools.
• Ability to identify wire and cable color differences.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy equipment and stand long periods.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drilling, pole sizing, and material estimation.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at high elevations.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain major cable systems and structures.
• Read work orders, specs, drawings, or cut sheets to determine tasks.
• Perform construction work: digging, pole handling, laying cable and conduit.
• Operate equipment like compressors, pumps, lifts and trucks.
• Use test equipment to check for gas in manholes and remove debris.
• Dismantle and relocate aerial, underground, or building wiring and hardware.
• Connect wires and attach/detach hardware to poles and buildings.
• Respond to emergencies and outages requiring heavy construction.
• Ensure safety and compliance with government orders.
