Placements24 seeks a Telecom Field Engineer to contribute to expanding network infrastructure in Welkom. The role covers on-site deployment, testing, and optimization of telecom systems, with a hybrid schedule balancing field work and remote analysis.

You will collaborate with project managers and technical teams to deliver reliable connectivity across the Free State region, applying RF planning, fiber optic experience, and network design skills to ensure high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications) or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience as a Field Engineer in telecom.
• Experience with network planning, design, and implementation.
• Experience with RF planning, cellular deployment, or fiber optic systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation and commissioning of telecom equipment and infrastructure.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments for optimal network placement.
• Perform diagnostic testing and performance analysis of network components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve field issues to minimize service disruption.
• Generate detailed technical reports on progress, findings and recommendations.

About the Role
