Job summary

Duke Energy offers a Telecommunications Internship for enrolled college students to gain hands-on exposure in telecom delivery and support within a major energy company. The role covers cellular engineering, modem technology, and carrier activations/deactivations, with onsite and remote collaboration.

Ideal candidates are pursuing IT or Engineering degrees, with GPA 2.75+ and not graduating before August 2027.

Qualifications

Enrolled in a master's or bachelor's IT or Engineering related degree program such as Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Information Systems, Information Technology, Information Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Must not graduate before August 2027
Previous internship experience
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Demonstrates strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems and MS Office
Familiarity with telecommunication systems, IT, cellular networks, data networks and electrical engineering concepts and practices

Responsibilities

Selected candidate(s) will gain exposure to cellular engineering and support
Hands-on experience to learn more about modem communications technology and carrier service activations and deactivations
Assist with basic support and troubleshooting
Assist team with special projects
