Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a Telecom Support Associate to assist with BVHS telephone systems and wireless devices. The role involves moves, adds and changes, device configuration, and end-user training.

You will also maintain device inventories and generate reports to keep the department informed. Requirements include a high school diploma and strong communication skills; familiarity with Mitel, Vocera, and Verizon devices is preferred.

  • Performs routine maintenance on telecom devices to keep them operating well.
  • Generates reports from telecom software for department leads.
  • Interfaces with end users to resolve problems and troubleshoot issues.

Job description

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION

Assists in the support of all BVHS telephone systems including wireless devices. Performs moves, adds and changes for end-users.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of all telecom devices and who they are issued to
  • Configures and distributes telecom devices as necessary
  • Coordinates the deployment of wireless devices as needed and coordinates service changes as required
  • Develops and maintains an organized procedure for logging, prioritizing and fulfilling requests for communication related change activities.
  • Creates documentation and trains users in the appropriate use of telecom devices
  • Consults with users and designs effective configurations that meet the requirements of the users
  • Collects and performs regular maintenance on telecom devices to keep them operating well
  • Generates reports from telecom software for department leads
  • Interfaces with end users to resolve problems, determines best methods of solving issues, troubleshoots problems, etc.
  • Prepares for and participates in meetings with supervisors and others to provide status updates, describes upcoming requirements, outlines areas of deficiencies, etc.
  • Supports all communication software.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency with common PC software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with peers and vendors.
  • Good organizations skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot service issues, diagnose problems and design solutions.
  • A valid driver's license is required (if you do not have a valid Ohio driver's license you must obtain one within 30 days of your residency in the state). You must also meet BVHS's company fleet policy and insurance company requirements, and any other requirements that may be required to operate a vehicle.
  • Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with managing wireless devices including Vocera.
  • Previous experience with Mitel phone systems.
  • Experience with Verizon cellular phones.
  • College degree.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to lift 50lbs. This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting. The associate must be able to sit for three hours, walk for one hour and stand for two hours per day. The individual must have excellent eye/hand coordination to operate the machines. This position requires corrected vision and hearing in the normal range.
