Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple states. You will manage schedules, safety programs, and quality standards while mentoring field staff and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.

The role requires 1–3 years of superintendent experience, knowledge of aerial/underground fiber installation (HDD a plus), and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Telecommunications construction Superintendent experience.
• Experience with aerial and underground fiber installations, HDD a plus.
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related field is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specs, and current practices.
• Effective communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to supervise craft workers and subcontractors directly.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive issue resolution.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Willingness to travel across multiple states.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs.
• Oversee incident investigations.
• Review and update construction schedules and address delays.
• Contribute to project schedules and activity duration estimates.
• Estimate durations and materials for complex projects.
• Report and track financial aspects of projects.
• Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations.
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the field team.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
• Manage daily field operations, field staff, contractors, and tradespeople.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
