Job summary

Olsson is seeking a Telecom CAD Technician to support BAU and Long-Haul telecom design. You will assist with fiber optic design plans, permit exhibits, engineering drawings, and project documentation while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and permitting staff.

You will review field data, GIS/KMZ files, utility records, and client requirements to produce accurate CAD deliverables and permit plan sets.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience with CAD-related software (AutoCAD required).
• GIS-related software experience preferred but not required.
• Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience reading engineering markups, maps, utility records, GIS/KMZ data.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and organized CAD drawings with minimal drafting errors.
• Follow Olsson and client CAD standards, templates, layer management and file organization.
• Prepare telecommunications plan sheets, permit exhibits, alignment drawings and exhibits.
• Incorporate redlines and quality control comments in a timely and accurate manner.
• Communicate proactively when information is missing or clarification is needed.
• Maintain awareness of project schedules, priorities and deliverable deadlines.
