  • Associate degree with 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Basic knowledge of communications technologies and inter-networking principles.
  • Effective verbal and written communication; teamwork; initiative.
  • Occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with basic analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting of owned and leased networks and systems; under general direction performs technical analyses of network software and hardware; helps resolve basic technical problems.
  • Learns and adheres to policies, procedures, standards, codes, and regulations relevant to assignments. Pursues Zero Harm.
  • Develops knowledge of AEP networks, components, and facilities to enable more efficient and comprehensive responses to projects and problems.
  • Under general direction of more experienced employees prepares cost estimates for routine engineering assignments; documents project work; performs routine network assignments.
  • Reviews and adheres to approval processes as part of change management, incident management, and trouble response scenarios.
  • Learn AEP's organizational structure and the specific role and responsibility of one's organizational unit.
