The Education and Outreach Coordinator at Fort Bend Museum in Richmond, TX develops and oversees TEKS aligned educational programs, school tours, on-site experiences, and community outreach, while coordinating volunteers and training staff. This role collaborates with staff to achieve FBHA’s strategic goals and ensures program quality across all offerings.

Responsibilities include supervising docents, creating field trip marketing, leading tours when needed, building partnerships with schools

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in education, museum studies, history or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in education and/or museum field or related experience.
• Experience working with a nonprofit museum or other educational institution.
• Experience developing and delivering educational experiences/programs for a variety of age groups.
• Experience developing lesson plans that include learning objectives and assessment procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Develops TEKS aligned curricula and special programming for educators and students.
• Supervises and trains docents, staff, interns, and volunteers; preserves tour quality.
• Creates marketing for field trips and promotes educational opportunities.
• Leads historic house tours and school programs when volunteers are unavailable.
• Books and coordinates day-of plans for groups seeking educational experiences.
• Maintains self-guided gallery guides for visitors and supports community partnerships.
• Manages departmental budget and assists with annual budget requests.
• Performs duties as a trained collections staff member when needed.
• Prepares monthly activity reports and metrics for the Director of Programs.
