Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a Director of Fine Arts to lead the district's fine arts department and guide the development and delivery of the curriculum and instructional program. The role ensures alignment with district goals and supports student achievement.

The director will oversee program area management, budgeting, staff supervision, and collaboration with principals and teachers to foster student performances and exhibitions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education required.
• TEA teaching certification for subject and grade level with arts certificate.
• Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years of fine arts instruction.
• Minimum of 2 years of fine arts leadership experience.
• Proven experience developing and implementing curriculum, instruction and assessments.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and delivery of fine arts programs that align with district goals and support student achievement.
• Monitor and reevaluate programs using input from teachers, principals, data, and research to improve outcomes.
• Encourage and support student performances, exhibits, and displays of student work.
• Ensure necessary resources and technology to meet educational goals are available.
• Engage staff in evaluating instructional tools and materials to meet student learning needs.
• Plan and provide staff development for fine arts teachers.
• Observe instruction and provide feedback to teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
