Job summary

Children’s Museum Houston is seeking a Community Outreach Discovery Guide to energize family learning across the Greater Houston area through partner sites and museum events. You will help create a fun, engaging environment and model hands-on activities that inspire curious learners.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Some college/coursework related to education or child engagement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate family learning engagements at partner sites and events.
• Assist with setup of activations and materials at events.
• Engage participants by describing, modeling, and prompting activities.
• Monitor and restock supplies to ensure an enriched learning experience.
• Support Outreach team with event planning and preparation.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to diverse families served.
• Share information about other Museum offerings with participants.
• Help onboard and guide new Outreach Discovery Guides.
• Enforce event rules and escalate as needed.
• Work at multiple Greater Houston locations, including CMH and Fort Bend.
