Job summary

PGCMLS Bowie Branch seeks an experienced Librarian or Public Services Specialist to lead teen-focused services and programs. You will supervise a small team, support staff development, and help create a welcoming environment for teens and the community.

The role involves planning workshops, building partnerships with schools and organizations, and using makerspace resources to engage teens. ALA MLS or Bachelor’s with LATI is required, plus relevant experience.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Maryland Public Librarian certificate or LATI is required for PSS path.
• Two years of professional library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and evaluate approximately three staff members.
• Plan, facilitate, and evaluate teen programs, workshops, and career readiness.
• Build relationships with teens and schools to shape programs and services.
• Develop partnerships with schools, colleges, and community organizations for teen outreach.

Education

MLS or MLIS degree (ALA-accredited)

Bachelor’s degree (PSS path)

Maryland Public Librarian certificate
