Job summary

Piscataway Public Library is seeking a part-time Teen Services Librarian to serve teens in grades 6-12 at the Kennedy and Westergard locations. The role emphasizes reference, reader's advisory, and technology support with a team-based approach.

Minimum qualifications include MLS from an ALA-accredited program and NJ Librarian's Certificate preferred; currently enrolled MLS students may be considered for Library Associate roles. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• MLS from an ALA-accredited program preferred.
• New Jersey Professional Librarian’s Certificate preferred.
• Experience in customer service, reference, and technology support.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and reader's advisory, and technology assistance with a welcoming demeanor.
• Develop, plan, and present teen-oriented programs for grades 6-12.
• Support collection development and maintain book displays.
• Represent the library at community events and school visits.
• Promote library services via website and social media; deliver instruction
