Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking a Recreation Teen Coordinator to lead planning, budgeting, and coordination of teen-focused recreational programs across recreation centers. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and collaboration with staff, volunteers, and community partners to deliver high-quality experiences for youth.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree or higher with experience in recreation program development, plus a valid Georgia driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Associate’s Degree or 2 years of college education in business/public administration, recreation or an appropriate discipline.
  • Two years recreation program development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business/public administration, recreation or an appropriate discipline and 2-3 years' of progressively responsible supervisory experience in recreation program development.
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License, has or is able to attain a valid CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and oversee teen programs and activities within the recreation system.
  • Organize and supervise staff, volunteers, and scheduling of programs across centers.
  • Prepare staff reports, budgets, and program evaluations to ensure quality and safety.
  • Coordinate with schools and community partners to engage teens and promote inclusivity.

Education

Associate’s Degree or 2 years of college in business/public administration, recreation or related discipline
