Job summary

The Town of West Hartford is seeking a Part-Time Teen Library Specialist to support teen programming and library services. You will engage with middle and high school students to promote library resources, register cardholders, and participate in outreach initiatives.

Responsibilities include coordinating teen activities, assisting patrons with information literacy, and maintaining displays. Must be available Monday/Tuesday evenings and one Saturday per month.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with four years of related library experience or an LTA certificate.
• Experience working with teens in a professional or library setting preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a busy public library.

Responsibilities

• Develop teen programming for library users.
• Visit schools to register students for library cards and discuss teen services.
• Assist with teen boards and groups and manage book displays.
