Job summary

YMCA of Downtown Manchester is seeking a Teen Outreach Coordinator to oversee after-school and summer programs for middle and high-school students. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with schools, and the ability to manage staff and student activities in a busy youth center environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and has experience with youth development, tutoring, and program coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience with youth development and working with middle school age groups or at-risk youth.
• Ability to tutor and support students across math, science, social studies and language arts at an 8th grade level.
• Capacity to implement values education and asset-building activities.
• At least 1 year of experience working with youth or in customer service.
• Strong writing and reporting skills for grant documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach life skills curriculum and provide tutoring support.
• Organize and maintain a safe, well-equipped classroom environment.
• Build relationships with schools, teachers, administrators and families.
• Track attendance and student progress; communicate regularly with supervisors.
