Job summary

Lansing Public Library is seeking a Teen Associate for the Youth Services team to engage with tweens and teens, plan activities, and support afterschool programs. The role emphasizes building relationships and fostering responsible behavior.

The ideal candidate has a background in adolescent programming, strong communication skills, and a willingness to work varying shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred or higher.
• Minimum of two years in an adolescent-related degree program from an accredited college.
• 1 year experience working with teens in grades 6–12.
• Experience with an automated ILS, preferably SirsiDynix.

Responsibilities

• Spend time at the youth service desk.
• Orchestrate and lead exciting programs for teens.
• Interact with afterschool tweens in a welcoming environment.
