Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a dedicated Center Staff member to develop and implement youth programs at the Parkway YMCA. You will work under the Director of Operations to create engaging activities for middle and high school students, ensuring safety and alignment with the YMCA’s three focus areas.

This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, weekend/evening availability, and prior experience with youth education or job readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience in planning and developing youth programs in urban settings.
• Some college coursework related to youth education and human services.
• Experience working with youth in education, job readiness and employment skills.
• At least 1 year direct experience with middle/high school students; must be 21+.
• High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality programs for middle/high school youth while enforcing YMCA policies.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations to set goals and maintain activity standards.
• Coordinate service delivery with YMCA management to ensure a safe, youth-friendly environment.
• Maintain enrollment and participation in YMCA programs.
• Ensure teens attend required trainings and events and participate in community collaborations.
• Assist in recruiting teens in the community.
• Attend YMCA and community meetings as required by the Director of Operations.
• Increase community visibility via social media and outreach.
• Maintain program areas and supplies.
• Meet reporting and CACFP/youth membership requirements and related paperwork.
• Communicate program information and concerns promptly.
• Remain current in required training; support Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility.
• Performance reviewed every 30 days by supervisor and duties performed as requested.
